Doc Martin shows
Like many DJ’s in the early 90’s, one night of raving opened up a world to the Doc that garnered an instant love of house music. This one night was a very special one at the Ministry of Sound listening to the amazing resident Tony Humphries and the special guests on the night were none other than The Masters at Work! This led to many other nights pounding the dance floor and not long after a pair of Technics 1210’s was purchased and lots of buying vinyl and practising ensued. Doc made his first live appearance on a very popular London pirate radio called Funktion FM in June 1992, then Rhythm FM and many other pirate radios stations thereafter. In early 1994, a chance meeting with a DJ agency led to 8 years of global booking from all corners of the globe. Dubai to New York, Brussels to Budapest. He was a monthly resident at the famous House Club in Nottingham and regularly played at venues such as The Ministry of Sound, Club UK, House of Windsor, Hard Times, Miss Moneypennys, Propaganda, Cream to mention just a few. Since 2004, Doc has been playing less regularly and now only does it for fun at boat parties and other smaller events although he has been very busy on the production front with 4 successful releases on various labels knocking out bangers that have gone down a storm. A chance conversation with the hierarchy at Urban Essex Radio was very welcome and now has his regular spot on a Friday evening between 8-10pm playing the very best in upfront and Tech house mixed in with some of the old skool favourites. It’s a 2 hours not to be missed!
